Seems like Vladimir won’t be starting the season for the Jays.

If they bring him up end of April let’s say they get another year of control before free agency. All just s ploy to sell the team in the next 2 years. I miss the Labatts Blue Jays days.

He was injured on Friday and will miss 3-4 weeks for recovery.
They will have some interesting choices. Regardless they would have sent him down to the minors for 15 games. That would give them an extra year before entering free agency. Also he could use some work at 3rd base to become a little better in the field. Eventually would guess he ends up at 1st base but, now we have too many guys there. I believe if they wait until June (approx. 60 games) they gain even more control time for arbitration. However, do they want to piss him off if he is healthy in a month. With some players of this caliber they could just sign him after his second full year to a long term contract that locks him up for decent money but, not crazy high as he would get in 6 or 7 years. This is all assuming he lives up to the hype/projections. Very interesting: on a side note he should probably stop eating only his grandmothers food and talk to the trainers to get in to game shape for him to stay healthy long term for mutual benefits to him and team.
